Activate · Languages & Localization

Meet every member in their own language.

Members tell you the language they want in their portal. You target by it like any other tag, and every email shows prices, numbers and dates in their regional format — all on a foundation of twelve languages, each with its own tone and compliance conventions.

The problem

One-language marketing leaves money on the table.

When every member gets the same English template with a US price, your international audience feels like an afterthought — and a mis-formatted price or date quietly erodes trust on the exact message meant to convert.

A number that reads wrong

"$1,234.50" is confusing where the comma is the decimal mark. The offer is right; the formatting makes it look careless.

No way to speak to a segment

You can't send the French cohort a French-appropriate message if you never captured who prefers French.

Localization as a rebuild

Most stacks treat every new language as a project — new templates, new tools — instead of a setting on the member.

How it works

Capture the language. Target by it. Format for it.

Language isn't a separate system in Flash — it's an attribute on the member that flows into segmentation and the send.

Smart formatting in email

One template. Every member reads their own numbers.

Drop the formatting tags into any email once. At send time each member sees prices, quantities and dates in their own regional format — driven by the language they chose. Amounts stay in your store's currency (formatting only, no exchange-rate conversion).

Language as an attribute

Members set it. You segment on it.

Declared in the portal

In their self-service preference center, members choose their preferred language — a first-party attribute, not a guess.

A preset tag, instantly

Their choice becomes the "Preferred Language" tag, so you can target or exclude a language cohort like any other segment.

Read at send time

The send path reads each member's language to format the message for them — no per-language duplicate campaigns to maintain.

The foundation

Twelve languages, each with its own conventions.

Every language ships as a full pack carrying the tone, formality and compliance conventions native speakers expect — and Arabic, our first right-to-left language, renders the member portal and emails RTL end to end.

The right tone

Formal address by default where it matters — French vouvoiement, German Sie, Japanese keigo, Korean 존댓말, Chinese 您, Arabic’s formal Modern Standard register — with a friendlier register on hand for casual sends.

Compliance built in

Per-region defaults for consent (opt-in, double-opt-in), unsubscribe wording, and market-specific rules like France's Loi Toubon and Germany's Impressum requirement.

Regional formats

Each language carries its own number, date and currency conventions, so formatting matches the market — not a single hard-coded default.

Global coverage

Currency and time zone for every English, French and Spanish market.

Flash carries the official currency and primary time zone for 94 countries across every shipped language — from the US, UK and Canada to francophone Africa, all of Latin America, the Gulf, Turkey and East Asia — so a member's country resolves to the right money format and the right local time, without a manual lookup.

Multilingual countries are handled once — Canada carries English and French, Equatorial Guinea Spanish and French — so nobody falls through the cracks.

Pick your country once

Your market's defaults — and its marketing calendar.

Choose your organization's home country and Flash prefills the defaults that follow from it: currency, time zone, the consent posture your market's regulations imply, and the languages your portal should offer. The campaign calendar switches to your local moments — a Saudi brand plans around Ramadan, the Eids and White Friday; a Chinese brand around Lunar New Year, 618 and Golden Week; a Thai brand around Songkran — instead of a one-size-fits-all US retail calendar.

It's a one-time prefill, not a lock: every field stays editable, and languages you already offer are never removed. Consent defaults are a starting posture drawn from each market's regulatory style — not legal advice.

What this does — and doesn't — do

Honest by design.

Localization here means formatting and targeting: prices, numbers and dates render in each member's regional format, and you segment by their chosen language. Flash does notmachine-translate the words you write — your copy is sent exactly as you wrote it — and amounts are shown in your store's currency (formatting only, never an exchange-rate conversion). The twelve-language library is the foundation we build localized experiences on, and it grows one honestly-translated language at a time — the newest packs (Turkish and Arabic) note where a translation is still under native-speaker review.

Speak to every member the way they read.
